Community Impact Award
The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its $500,000 Community Impact Award, designed to support nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to meaningful community engagement and service.
Open enrollment is May 1st - July 24th, 2026
Award recipients will be notified by Friday, August 7th, 2026
This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate strong leadership, measurable impact, and a commitment to serving those in need.
The $500,000 award will be divided into two (2) $100,000 awards, two (2) $50,000 awards and (8) $25,000 awards. These awards will provide critical funding to strengthen outreach initiatives, expand essential services, and increase long-term community impact. Eligible applicants must be registered nonprofit organizations with a proven track record of service and responsible financial stewardship.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
What is the purpose of the Community Impact Award?
Our Impact Award is designed to support impactful initiatives that strengthen communities, expand opportunity, and align with our mission. We fund projects that demonstrate clear outcomes, thoughtful planning, and meaningful community benefit.
Who is eligible to apply?
Eligible applicants include qualified nonprofit organizations, community-based groups, and, where applicable, fiscally sponsored initiatives. Applicants must be in good standing and operating in alignment with our funding priorities.
Do applicants need to be a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3)?
Yes, applicants must either be a registered 501(c)(3) organization or have a qualified fiscal sponsor.
Are there any ineligible applicants or projects?
Yes, we do not fund
- For-profit businesses and/or organizations
- Political campaigns or lobbying efforts
- Individuals without nonprofit affiliation
- Projects that do not align with our mission and guiding purpose
FUNDING & AWARD AMOUNTS
What award amounts are available?
We offer awards in the following tiers:
- $100,000 (2 awards)
- $50,000 (2 awards)
- $25,000 (8 awards)
Please note: Applications for our $100,000 grant are now closed – we’ve reached our submission cap for this award cycle. If you’ve already applied, thank you so much for sharing your work with us.
We’re still actively accepting applications for our $50,000 and $25,000 awards, and we’d love to see your project considered for one of those opportunities. Submissions for the $100,000 award will reopen with our 2027 award season.
How are award amounts determined?
Applicants may request any specific tier amount, however, final award decisions are based on project scope, impact, number of individuals served, and available funding.
What can award funds be used for?
Funds may be used for program-related expenses, including:
- Direct Program Costs
- Operational Support
- Equipment and Materials
- Staffing – directly tied to project
- Scholarships
Are there restrictions on award fund usage?
Yes, Award funds may not be used for:
- Political Activities
- Personal Expenses
- Unrelated operational overhead beyond approved limits
- Indirect Costs
APPLICATION PROCESS
How are applications evaluated?
Applications are reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Alignment with our mission and guiding purpose
- Community impact
- Feasibility and execution plan
- Financial responsibility and need
- Sustainability
Who reviews the applications?
Applications are reviewed by our Impact Review Committee composed of Board Members, At-Large Members, and Non-Profit Grant Specialists.
When will applicants be notified?
Applicants will be notified within three (3) weeks after the application deadline.
How many awards will be distributed?
Twelve (12) for this year at various tiers. The number of awards and amounts varies each year based on funding availability and application quality
SELECTION PROCESS
When is the application deadline?
Application deadlines will be posted on our website.
Late submissions are not accepted.
How do I apply?
Applications must be submitted through our online award portal. A link is available on our website during the application period.
Can I update my application after submission?
No. Once submitted, applications are considered final. Please review carefully before submitting.
Is there an application fee?
No, there is no cost to apply
POST AWARD
How and when are funds distributed?
Award funds are typically distributed within three (3) weeks after award notification, pending completions=of required agreements.
Are there reporting requirements?
Yes. Award recipients are required to submit progress updates and a final report detailing how funds were used and the impact achieved.
Can award funds be used over multiple years?
Unless otherwise specified, awards are intended for use within a defined project period.
What if my project changes after receding funding?
Any significant changes must be communicated and approved in advance.

Can past applicants or recipients apply again?
Yes, unless otherwise stated. Previous funding does not guarantee future awards.
Will I receive feedback if my application is not selected?
Due to application volume, individualized feedback may not always be provided.
